Is Soul winning a win/win or lose/win?

At Dr Davis blog 'aintsobad', he made a statement that soul winner implies that someone must lose so therefore it might not be an appropriate moniker. I would say this is both wrong and right. My reasoning, while far from complete, goes something like this--

Jesus lost His life that we might gain ours.

but Jesus rose from the dead in victory over death.

I have very little to do with this other than as evangleist(good newser)

So the answer to the titled question is yes
